Barcelona Comic Fair: A Universe of Vignettes and Zombies Invades the City

The 43rd edition of Comic Barcelona is currently transforming Fira de Barcelona-Montjuïc into a vibrant epicenter for comic enthusiasts. Until Sunday, the event is expecting to gather over 100,000 visitors, offering an overwhelming selection of comics, exhibitions, and activities. The fair is not only showcasing classic and experimental comics but also providing immersive experiences for all attendees.

Zombies on the Loose: «The Walking Dead» Experience

One of the most striking attractions this year is a remarkably realistic zombie enclosure, promoting Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore's «The Walking Dead» albums (Planeta). According to Jacinto Antón (2025), a journalist from *El País*, the zombies are so realistic that they appear to be escaping and interacting with the attendees, creating a thrilling and immersive experience. This activation allows fans to step into the world of the popular comic series.

Minister Urtasun Visits Comic Barcelona

The event has also drawn attention from prominent figures, including the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, who visited Comic Barcelona this past midday. International Guests and Tolkien Homage

The event offers visibility to the campaign of authors against the IA generative, for the damage it does to copyright.

Visitors can also explore a labyrinth featuring Max's work, support the creation of an Alien museum (complete with a Nostromo spaceship laboratory), participate in an orc shooting game (with prizes), and preview the cover of the new Asterix album in Lusitania.

Cosplay and Vintage Finds

Comic Barcelona encourages attendees to embrace cosplay and immerse themselves in the world of their favorite characters. The fair also reminds visitors to ask for permission before photographing cosplayers. Among the attendees, Green Arrow, a member of the Justice League, was spotted, while a vendor offered t-shirts with the phrase «No estoy mayor, soy vintage» for those who appreciate classic finds.
