Escalating Violence in Sinaloa
Sinaloa, specifically Culiacán, has grappled with a surge in violence in recent months. Organized crime-related clashes, murders, and illegal detentions have escalated, leading to a heightened sense of insecurity and tension among the population.
Coordination for Peace and Security
Minister García Harfuch will preside over a meeting with the Coordination Board for the Construction of Peace. The meeting's agenda includes formulating strategies to mitigate the escalating violence, with a particular focus on Culiacán.
Authorities from the state and municipal levels, military commanders, and representatives from the National Guard will participate in the meeting to analyze and implement immediate measures for restoring peace in the region. They will collaborate to strengthen the presence and coordination of federal security forces and address critical security concerns.
The security strategy aims to bolster security measures in the state, focusing on areas most affected by violence. The goal is to create a safer environment for the inhabitants of Sinaloa and restore a sense of normalcy.
“We are committed to working together with all levels of government and security forces to bring peace and security back to Sinaloa. We will not rest until the citizens feel safe in their communities.” - Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection
